Ethiopian Orthodox Christmas, known as Genna, is celebrated on 7th January in Addis Ababa and across Ethiopia. The Bole Medhanialem Church in Addis Ababa hosts beautiful Christmas spiritual songs during the Orthodox Christmas Celebrations on 6th January. One of the most significant events is Alafat Zemare, where thousands of worshippers gather to sing hymns praising peace and salvation. This chant is particularly prominent during Gena ( Ethiopian Christmas ) celebration, where thousands gather to participate in the spiritual hymns and prayer. The event was marked by devotional singing, religious attire, and blessings from church leader.
